How to Apply to Universities in Türkiye?
Türkiye is a top destination for International Students wishing to study abroad. There are two types of universities in Türkiye. Private Universities and State Universities. With more than 70 private universities, Turkey offers its students an extensive catalog of universities.
To study at a private university you can apply via our application form. With our application form, you can easily apply to several universities in Turkey by filling out a single application form. How to Apply for Undergraduate Programs in Türkiye?
If you are seeking a Bachelor's degree in Turkey, you must have a high school diploma or be in the last semester of high school. These documents are required for admission in Undergraduate Programs in Türkiye:

How is the visa procedure?
It is important for foreign students to remember that they have to get a student visa from the Turkish Embassy in their country, because they cannot get one in Turkey.
International candidates, in terms of their acceptance, must obtain a Student Visa from their country of origin, prior to their arrival in Turkey, in order to be enrolled in Turkish Universities. They must apply to the nearest Turkish Consulate or Turkish Embassy. Tourist visas are not accepted.
What language will I use for my studies in Türkiye?
In general, the teaching language in Turkish universities will be either English or Turkish.
I'm studying in another country; Can I transfer my studies to Türkiye?
You can if your current university is recognized in Türkiye. All general courses will be transferred after the University evaluation process.
What are a Conditional and an Official Acceptance Letter?
Conditional Acceptance Letter
The Conditional Acceptance Letter certifies that you are conditionally accepted by the university. After completing your deposit payment, you will receive an Official Letter of Acceptance. Your application will be reviewed within a maximum of 2 weeks. Once approved, a conditional acceptance letter will be sent to your email as proof of the conditional acceptance of your application.

An acceptance letter is a document that confirms that you are officially accepted by the university. You receive this letter when your deposit payment is confirmed.
Can I work in Türkiye after graduation?
Yes you can. International students can work in Türkiye after graduation. Especially since they have graduated from a Turkish university which increases their chances of getting a job after graduation. However, learning Turkish will be a plus for them and will increase their chances of getting the desired job.
Are diplomas awarded by Turkish universities recognized outside of Türkiye?
All Turkish universities are supervised by the Higher Education Council (Ministry of Higher Education) of Turkey (YOK). YOK and Turkish universities participate in the Bologna Process, a European Union program that seeks to coordinate academic standards among 47 countries. Equality for each country is usually determined by that country's special education authority.
Do I need to provide documents for language proficiency?
The language of instruction in many Turkish universities is English. Erasmus exchange students and exchange students whose native language is English do not need to provide any documentation, however students whose native language is not English do need to provide proof of English proficiency. Some universities require a minimum level of proficiency in one of the internationally recognized languages or entrance exams (TOEFL, PTE, SAT, etc.), while other universities administer their own academic English exams.
What is the admission criteria in Turkish Universities?
Admission criteria are determined by each host institution. Selection criteria will be based on academic records, language skills and other variables.

Do I have to speak Turkish?
If you are enrolling in an academic program in which the language of instruction is Turkish, you are expected to be proficient in Turkish. Please confirm in which language the study program will be held. If the language of instruction is English, you are not required to learn Turkish, but you are strongly encouraged to do so to get the most out of your social and cultural experience.
Am I an erasmus exchange or a privilege student candidate?
This must be specified before signing up, as the process is different for each. You are an Erasmus exchange or exchange student if your home university currently has a bilateral agreement with the university of your choice in Turkey. You apply through your home university. If you have any doubts about your status, please contact your home university's exchange office.
You are a privilege student if you apply independently, or your home university agrees to pay for your living expenses at the university of your choice in Turkey.
I want to study in Türkiye as an exchange student. Can I transfer the credits to my home university?
Yes, you can transfer credits to your home university, however your choice of course must be approved by your home university prior to your arrival in order to gain admission.
What is the application deadline?
Each university may be different, so please check the relevant university's admission requirements.
Will I have an orientation week?
Yes, many colleges, especially all private colleges, provide a well-organized orientation week for incoming students. The program is usually emailed to you before you arrive on campus. Please contact your university's international office for details.
What kind of support does the international office provide for international students?
During the pre-enrollment period, an orientation program is offered that will help students learn to navigate public transportation (including student discount transportation cards), apply for a residence permit, and obtain a student ID. Students can always visit their university's International Office with questions.
Can I work if I have a student visa?
Foreign students can legally work in Türkiye after obtaining a Student Residence Permit. However, foreign students enrolled in two-year associate programs or undergraduate programs can start working in Turkey only after completing their first year of studies. In addition, this must also comply with the provisions and regulations of the university directorate for student internships/work.
